Ontario Master Naturalist Program

I graduated from the Ontario Master Naturalist Program (OMNP) this week!! This 8 week program is a collab between Lakehead University and Ontario Nature, and is fully online (with field assignments to get you outside and exploring your “backyard”). I learned SO MUCH and would really recommend the program to anyone that’s interested in learning more about nature.
Here are a few of my favourite things I learned about.
– The development of the Waterloo Moraine
– The significance of the Atherly Narrows and Mnjikaning Fish Weirs
– The rare remnant ecosystem that is the Black Oak Savannah at High Park in Tkaronto/Toronto
– The fact that a type of dragonfly-like insect was the first thing to ever fly (yes, even before dinosaurs)
I’m so excited to continue learning and sharing my knowledge, so I’ve created a virtual community space designed for us to nerd out about nature together. Learn more about In Our Nature.
