Co-working and social time – explore your creative side in a welcoming, judgement-free community environment. No experience necessary, all skill levels welcome – everyone has the capacity to be creative.

The Details

  • Bring your own supplies (see below for a list of ideas).
  • All mediums welcome, as long as they can be safely used in a group setting.
  • We’ll spend the session hanging out and working on our projects.

Pay What You Can

  • Attend for free, or help cover some of the costs of running the sessions (space rental, air purifier filters, Zoom account, etc.).
  • Suggested: $0, $5, $10, $15
  • Feel free to register for free online and pay in cash at in person sessions.
In Person Sessions (Masks Required)

In person sessions are hosted at 44 Gaukel St, Kitchener in the Community Space.

  • Masks required (and provided for those who do not have one).
    • Acceptable masks include: N95, KN95, elastomeric, etc.
    • Exception ONLY for those who are medically unable to wear a mask. In that case, you must be actively taking precautions in your daily life to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. You will never need to disclose your condition, however please reach out to me via email after registering to let me know that you have an exemption.
    • Please keep your mask on at all times in the space, and exit the building to take mask breaks.
    • Masks will only be required in the space, there may be unmasked individuals throughout the rest of the building.
  • Two air purifiers will be in use in the space for the duration of the session.
  • Space is limited: maximum of 14 participants per session.
  • Chairs and tables will be set up.
  • Some supplies will be available if you don’t have your own or want to try something new.
  • A work sink is available in the space.
Online Sessions

Online sessions are hosted on Zoom.

  • Live captions enabled.
  • Cameras optional but encouraged.
  • Sessions will not be recorded.

Community Guidelines

  • This is a queer and disabled-led community! All are welcome.
  • Hateful and discriminatory behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • AI-generated art (in full, or in part) is not welcome.
  • In person sessions:
    • To help keep everyone safe(r) from illnesses like cold, flu, COVID-19, and measles, masks are required at all times in the space.
    • It is recommended that you take a COVID-19 test before and after you attend the session. In the event of a positive test prior to the session, do not attend. Your registration will be transferred to the next in-person session. In the event of a positive test following the session, please notify me as soon as possible, so I can (confidentially) let the other attendees know.

Art has the capacity to cause significant change, in our hearts, minds, lives, societies, worlds. Art created in community can be even more potent. You do not need to create a “masterpiece” in order for your art to matter. Your art matters because it exists, just as you matter because you exist.
